We are thrilled to offer teachers and students of all ages (K-12) the opportunity to
attend our Dance St. Louis 2012-13 Young People's Performance by the
world renowned Pilobolus on Friday, November 9 at 11 AM-Noon at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at University of MO-St. Louis.
The Young People’s Performance is an hour-long education program featuring dazzling, live dance performance with a young audience in mind. Tickets are only $5 per student, with one free chaperone ticket for every ten tickets purchases. We mail a free Teacher Guide in advance, packed with age-appropriate information and activities, and aligned with state and national educational standards.
Pilobolus, the arts organism, germinated in the fertile soil of a Dartmouth College dance class in 1971. What emerged was a collaborative choreographic process and a unique weight-sharing approach to partnering that gave the young company a non-traditional but powerful new set of skills with which to make dances. The group was immediately acclaimed for its startling mix of humor and invention, and Pilobolus soon became a self-sufficient organization, its members choreographing, dancing, managing, and publicizing their own programs. Today Pilobolus remains a deeply collaborative effort, and is recognized as a major American dance company of international influence.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, August 2 at 9:30 AM. To reserve your seats, call the Dance St. Louis box office: 314.534.6622. The last Pilobolus Young People’s Performance was completely sold out, so don't delay!
